In case you are still wondering what this post is all about, the image hopefully gives it away! You see a recent and yet somewhat inconclusive study (The Journal Spine, 2010) revealed that the children heavy backpack loads were actually compressing their spines. 

However, in a later study (Archives of Disease in Childhood, 2012) showed that there was no conclusive evidence in damage caused to the children's spine. 

Either way, both can agree that there is a need for our children to be able to better manage their weight loads carried on their backs on a daily basis!

So If you are up to the challenge and want to do a great community service for our children, then start innovating more efficient ways for our children to carry their school work load! Granted, we already have the suitcase style backpack on wheels which does nothing beyond transfer the carry load to the wrist.

Furthermore, if you live in a bumpy road type of town, forget being able to wheel your pack around. One of the most simple solutions would be to use technology to our advantage and make the workbooks all available online so there is no more carrying of any large text books.

It would seem a backcountry style backpack for school would be a simple solution for now! So calling all entrepreneurs, get to work and make Utah an even better state catering to it's youth.
